Following the announcement by the government on 28th May, we are happy and excited to announce that we will be re-opening our practice from Monday, 8th June 2020!
We have to prioritize our existing patients who have dental emergencies and ones whose appointments have been cancelled as a result of the lockdown.
Please do not attend the clinic unless you have an appointment.
We are working very hard to make this transition to normality as smooth as possible and we would appreciate your patience and understanding in regards to the new rules that we have to apply in order to protect you and ourselves.
We are looking forward to see you all again!
As the coronavirus situation is still persisting, we must continue to limit its spread.
Therefore we will not be able to open the practice on Tuesday 14/04/2020 as previously mentioned and we will have to remain closed indefinitely to protect our patients and ourselves.
We will review our opening times as soon as it is safe to do so.
If you have an emergency please call 01159501977 and follow the instructions on the message.
You can also email us at featuresnottingham@btconnect.com with any queries.
Thank you for your understanding!
Please all be safe and healthy, stay at home!

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy works on the basis that the body’s own natural healing powers may slow and even reverse the ageing process; it’s a revolutionary repair system that places growth factors in the exact location where we want the skin to repair and rejuvenate itself.
For over thirty years, PRP has been used in many different medical fields including: cardiac surgery, oral surgery, dentistry and periodontal implants, orthopaedics, wounds care, sports medicine, neurosurgery, general surgery and cosmetics.
After an initial consultation, a small amount of blood is drawn from the patient into a sterile tube (in the exact same manner as a standard blood sample). The tube is then placed into a centrifuge to separate the plasma and platelets from the other blood components. The plasma, enriched with concentrated platelets is removed from the same tube and re-introduced into the patient at the site of injury, scars, skin, obvious lines or wrinkles. Using a small sterile needle, the PRP is injected in and around the desired site. Upon re-injection the platelets release their growth factors which trigger surrounding cells to proliferate, in turn stimulating repair, increasing volume and rejuvenating the skin.
The treatment lasts 30 to 45 minutes and can be applied to any skin type.
This new addition in cosmetic enhancements has many possibilities such as reducing skin wrinkles, rejuvenating the skin, improve the appearance in those with acne scarring, and hastening the healing process after a facial peel. It is also beneficial for those wishing to have a fuller facial feature without the use of dermal fillers.
At Features we offer wrinkles smoothing treatment to successfully reduce the signs of aging. The treatment consists of few injections, with very fine needles, which makes it almost pain free. Topical anaesthetic is applied if required.
The below pictures, taken 2 weeks apart, show the muscles movement in the frown and forehead areas before and after the injections with Azzalure.
Last week we said Goodbye to our devoted receptionist Heather who happily retired after working in our practice for the last 37 years.
We wish her all the best and sunny days to enjoy in her garden.
This week we welcomed Claire and Emily to our practice.
Claire will be nursing for Florin and Albertina and help in reception, Emily is our new Hygienist, they both look forward to meeting you all, helping to keep and improve your oral hygiene and making your visit to our practice as comfortable as possible.
Great news for Features Nottingham!
In April 2016 we have bought this practice from its established private dentist, Ken Place.
We are Albertina and Florin – two dentists who have experience in general dentistry, dental implants and children’s dentistry. We have worked in Grimsby for more than 5 years and welcome the move to Nottingham to continue Ken’s work in this exciting and vibrant city. Our practice is very close to the main shopping area in a beautiful Regency style property.
Our goal is to expand the services the practice offers to ensure you have a happy smile when you leave.
We are very happy to meet all our patients and share with them our love of dentistry and oral healthcare!
Did you know that it is very important to have a good oral hygiene as it has a major impact on your heart health as well ?
Well to find more about that read this article regarding a recent study by researchers at Örebro University in Sweden click here
Oral Cancer Screening is a test that can be done by your dentist to look for cancer before you have any symptoms.
It can be easier to treat at this stage, as by the time symptoms appear cancer may have begun to spread.
